Pre-K Childcare Assistant – Before & After School
About The Position
Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a Pre-K Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Arlington Central School District for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is ideal for individuals who love working with children, possess energy, kindness, and patience, and enjoy encouraging children's curiosity, creativity, and confidence. The position requires teamwork, effective communication with families, and a commitment to providing exceptional care. The schedule follows the school calendar, with morning program hours from 7:00 am to 9:15 am and afternoon program hours from 2:15 pm to 5:00 pm. Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs. This is a part-time, non-exempt position.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, OR at least 1 year of experience working with children under the age of 13.
- Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
- Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
- Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
- Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
- Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
