About The Position

The Pre-K Assistant Teacher supports the instruction and care of age-eligible 4-year-old children enrolled in Georgia’s state-funded Pre-K Program. The role helps prepare children for success in kindergarten and later school years by supporting instruction tailored to each child’s needs and meeting program requirements under the guidance of the Lead Teacher. The Assistant Teacher follows licensing guidelines, company standards, and grant program requirements; develops skills in observing and assessing children, planning, and communicating with families; completes training on child care, preschool, and child development; and implements curriculum through fun, interactive learning experiences.

Requirements

• Associate degree or Technical Certification Credit (TCC) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, or an active CDA in Preschool.
• Experience in a licensed childcare center or related field.
• Ability to meet state education requirements and center requirements.
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for every child in the classroom while following licensing guidelines, company standards, and grant program requirements.
• Support instruction for 4-year-old children based on their individual needs and program requirements under the guidance of the Lead Teacher.
• Observe and assess children, plan for their needs, and communicate effectively with families.
• Complete training on child care, preschool, and child development topics.
• Implement curriculum and create fun, interactive learning experiences for children.
