About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is looking for someone energetic and passionate about working with kids to join the team as Before and After Pre-K Assistant Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a part-time, non-exempt position located at Monroeville Elementary School in Monroeville, OH. The role involves facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and fun environment, and acting as a positive role model for children. The assistant teacher will also communicate with parents daily and observe state and program guidelines. Some positions may involve management functions like record-keeping and registration.

Requirements

• 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Medically cleared of any communicable diseases including TB.
• Must be warm, friendly, and upbeat.
• Exceptional people skills, professional, reliable, and prompt.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, carry (up to 50 lbs.), and do whatever it takes to keep up with the children.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework assistance.
• Providing a safe, healthy, clean, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Reporting to the program ready to work at designated times and be prepared to stay until the last child leaves the program.
• Communicating daily with parents and family members via the Playground App.
• Observing and following state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Performing management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing (certain positions).
