About The Position
We are seeking a skilled Prefab Welder to join our team. This role focuses on welding and assembling pre-engineered components for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems in a controlled shop environment. The ideal candidate has experience in structural or pipe welding. Candidates are encouraged to apply ASAP as we have an immediate need in the Charlotte Area.
Requirements
- 1+ years of welding experience (fabrication or construction preferred)
- Proficiency in at least one welding process (MIG, TIG, or Stick)
- Experience with pipe welding or MEP systems
- Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
Nice To Haves
- AWS Certification Preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform welding on prefabricated assemblies including pipe, supports, racks, and structural components
- Interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols
- Cut, fit, and assemble metal components prior to welding
- Use MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding processes depending on project requirements
- Inspect welds for quality, strength, and compliance with specifications
- Operate fabrication tools such as grinders, saws, and cutting torches
- Maintain proper material identification and labeling for job site delivery
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
