About The Position

The Pre-Fab Electrical Apprentice supports the fabrication and assembly of electrical components and systems in a controlled shop environment. Working under the direction of experienced electricians and supervisors, the apprentice learns electrical fabrication techniques, safely uses tools and equipment, reads drawings and specifications, and prepares electrical assemblies for installation on construction projects.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Enrollment in, or willingness to enter, an electrical apprenticeship program.
Basic understanding of hand and power tools.
Ability to read measurements and perform basic mathematical calculations.
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Ability to safely lift and move materials as required.

Responsibilities

Assist with prefabrication of electrical assemblies, conduit, supports, cable assemblies, and related components.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and material lists.
Measure, cut, bend, assemble, label, and organize electrical materials.
Assist with wire pulling, termination, and preparation of electrical components.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely.
Inspect completed assemblies for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
Maintain an organized and clean work area.
Follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and applicable electrical codes.
Maintain accurate material counts and report shortages or damaged materials.
Work closely with journeyman electricians, foremen, project managers, and other apprentices.
Learn and apply proper electrical installation and fabrication practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
