The Pre-Doctoral Intern is a member of the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) team which includes therapists (psychologists, social workers, and marriage/family therapists) doctoral trainees, MFT trainees, clinical case management, and psychiatry. The CAPS team is committed to the values of multiculturalism and social justice, and is dedicated to providing mental health services that are open to and accepting of every student we serve. Together this team contributes to student success by delivering integrated mental healthcare to SCU students utilizing the services of the Cowell Center. The intern provides the highest quality of mental health services while supporting the vision of the University to make student learning a central goal by facilitating the psychological well-being of the student body. A successful candidate will be able to showcase a history of working across diverse identities (including but not limited to race, gender, sexuality, and ability status) and demonstrate their commitment to inclusivity. A successful candidate will model a deep commitment to cultural humility and equity; and will demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and application of the concept in evidence based short term therapy model.
