About The Position

The Pre-Certification Specialist is responsible for obtaining pre-certification of outpatient and office procedures. This role involves scheduling all procedures and precertifying them. The specialist will assist patients with questions regarding insurance or eligibility and communicate effectively and efficiently with physicians and staff. A key responsibility is contacting third-party payers in a timely fashion to provide notification of a member's need for procedures.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalency required.
• Two years clerical experience required.
• Accurate spelling and proper grammar.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Typing, Computer and Telephone skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to maintain complete and accurate records.
• Ability to communicate and understand medical terminology.
• Ability to prioritize workload to achieve maximum efficiency.
• Ability to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds throughout the organization.
• Ability to provide a positive customer service experience to guest, visitors, and patients.
• Ability to coordinate task and work within time constraints.
• Continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
• Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.

Nice To Haves

• Previous training or certification from an approved Nursing Assistant Program preferred.
• Experience in healthcare services is preferred.
