Pre Authorization Specialist
About The Position
The Pre-Authorization Specialist is responsible for service authorization, ongoing updates and assisting with monitoring of authorization compliance for Medicare and Non-Medicare funded services within the company. This position is also responsible for submitting outsourced referrals to our partner agencies in an effort to provide the most efficient response to patient needs. This is an intermediate level staff position working under limited supervision. Work situations require tact, judgment, discretion, and good customer service and organization skills. Major decisions are subject to the direction and review of the Home Health & Hospice Executive Director or her delegated management personnel. Serves as a liaison with Medicare and non-Medicare funding entities.
Requirements
- Home Health or Hospice experience
- Medical records or medical office experience
Nice To Haves
- Medicare, State, Hospice, HMO, PPO and traditional insurance regulation experience
- Medical insurance experience
