The Pre-Analytics Processing Technician plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and efficient laboratory operations by processing patient specimens, performing daily quality assurance activities, and maintaining laboratory equipment. Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree (preferably in Science)
  • Two years of lab experience OR a total of four years of experience as a Lab Technician or comparable processing experience may substitute the education requirement

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Medical Laboratory Science (this may substitute two years of experience)

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced manual processing.
  • Interpret and accession reference lab specimens.
  • Collect and analyze data.
  • Perform body fluid processing using aseptic technique.
  • Conduct higher level accessioning in the Lab Information System (LIS).
  • Perform extensive manual processing for esoteric testing and non-Cleveland Clinic reference laboratories.
  • Perform all duties of the Laboratory Processing Technician II.
