The Pre Analytics Processing Technician II plays a vital role in the laboratory by ensuring specimens are accurately processed and prepared for testing. In this role, you will manually accession and process laboratory specimens, perform daily quality assurance activities, maintain laboratory equipment, and complete routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance. A caregiver in this position works evenings from 3:00 p.m. -- 11:30 p.m.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of lab experience
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree, preferably in a science-related field (this may substitute the one year of experience needed above)
Responsibilities
- Receive and accession specimens into the LIS (Lab Information System).
- Prepare specimens for analysis.
- Perform manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting, and routine maintenance), problem-solving functions, and issue resolution.
- Assume compliance with basic regulations (temperature monitoring).
- Perform QA activities (pending log audit).
- Retrieve, sort, track and deliver specimens and verify receipts in the lab.
- Perform basic clerical functions (i.e., answering phones).
