About The Position
The Pre-Analytical Services Assistant supports routine activities related to the receipt, inspection, and handling of clinical specimens. This is an office-based role operating Tuesday–Saturday from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, ensuring timely and accurate specimen processing.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills for data entry and workflow tracking
- Understanding of specimen handling or laboratory support processes
- Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree

- Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow
- Strong attention to detail when handling clinical materials and documentation
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients
Responsibilities
- Assist with receipt of consignments and shipments
- Open shipments and perform quality checks of patient information forms, escalating discrepancies or damage
- Dispose of or recycle kit shipping supplies in accordance with procedures
- Conduct secondary checks to ensure no specimens remain in packaging
- Support after-hours alarms and other critical operational functions
- Assist with maintenance of equipment and supply inventory management
- Perform administrative tasks and maintain organized workstations
- Follow all safety procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines
