About The Position
Pre-Analytical Assistant I is responsible for general support functions within the Technical Operations Department. The pay range is $18.00+ per hour, with potential shift differentials for second and third shifts. Salary offers are based on a variety of factors including skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market conditions. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonuses.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
- Minimal data entry skills
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a production environment
- Medical background preferred which includes medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates an ability to learn job duties and understand how functions in Tech Ops and Specimen Processing work together and impact Technical departments and result quality.
- Identifies problems with specimen types, missing information, etc., regarding sorting, racking, centrifuging, delivery, and storage of specimens; resolves or forwards information for timely problem resolution.
- Demonstrates an understanding of compliance policies related to test ordering, including researching test order information on translation tables, computer systems, and the directory of services.
- Meets quality and production standards within 6 months of completing training.
- Completes all required written documentation such that it is understandable, legible, and within the assigned time frame.
- Reports to work on time, follows attendance guidelines, and supports department performance during coworker absences.
- Learns additional functions within Tech Ops and Specimen Processing to allow timely progression to the next level.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
