About The Position

Surgical Specialists at Princeton has an immediate need for a full time Pre-Admission Registered Nurse! At Surgical Specialists at Princeton, we believe health care are in inseparable. Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required
• PALS if required by the center
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Nice To Haves

• 2 years of experience in Pre Admission and/or PreOp preferred

Responsibilities

• Organizing and directing activities in accordance with nursing standards, JC, Medicare and all other applicable federal, state and local guidelines.
• Contacting patients prior to surgery via telephone to assess medical and medication history.
• Reviewing for appropriate lab, x-ray, EKG orders to determine where and when these procedures are to be completed.
• Providing pre-admission teaching.
• Implementing all physician orders.
• Providing for the continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients’ condition.
• Providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
