About The Position

Reporting to the Manager of Practicum Coordination, this role assists students enrolled in practicum placements for the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) program. The coordinator provides placement support, liaises between students and the Field Training department, collaborates with faculty and students, and ensures a meaningful and effective practicum and classroom experience. This is an existing permanent vacancy working remotely within Canada in the Eastern time zone.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in a related field.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to effectively manage large volumes of confidential paperwork.
  • Ability to build trusting and influential relationships with students, faculty, and practicum site supervisors across Canada.
  • Strong conflict resolution and crisis management skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive situations professionally and with cultural sensitivity.
  • Comfortable engaging in high-level communications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and data management.
  • Ability to quickly learn other software programs used in online learning.
  • Proactive problem solver, able to identify and resolve issues efficiently while maintaining a student-focused approach.
  • Thrives in a team-oriented environment where communication and collaboration happen throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Support practicum students by monitoring progress, providing guidance, and hosting live and virtual office hours.
  • Assist students with special requests, such as practicum extensions, site changes, or site terminations.
  • Liaise with practicum sites by collaborating with site supervisors and faculty, offering support, and ensuring alignment between academic expectations and field training.
  • Manage student practicum submissions by tracking student hours, identifying potential red flags to escalate to the Senior Practicum Coordinator, and reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Manage documentation by maintaining key student records, including evaluation forms and feedback reports, and ensuring course bulletins and practicum materials are up to date.
  • Document significant student communications in the shared drive and communication logs.
  • Respond to student emails and support tickets within 24 hours, forwarding issues to the appropriate departments when necessary.
  • Champion the company culture by contributing to a supportive, team-oriented environment that reflects core values, fostering clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and student success.
