About The Position

World of Animals - Bensalem, part of the Suveto network of hospitals, is seeking a Practice Manager to join their team in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. The hospital provides exceptional pet care, including wellness, dental care, spay and neuter services, emergency care, and vaccinations, utilizing advanced technology. Practice Managers are integral to hospital performance, working in partnership with the Medical Director and reporting to the Operations Director. They are leaders responsible for upholding the hospital's standards, mission, and vision with an ownership mentality, nurturing a positive and sustainable workplace culture. The role involves administrative, financial, and personnel management to ensure smooth hospital operations, requiring positive attitudes, strong work ethics, and high client service standards.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of management experience preferred.
  • Experience in managing a veterinary hospital, including financial and administrative support.
  • Experience in managing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of staff.
  • Monitoring employee competence and effectiveness through manager feedback, observation, staff performance, and salary reviews.
  • Assigning job responsibilities to managers and delegating as necessary.
  • Enforcing policies and overseeing disciplinary actions and terminations.
  • Organizing and conducting staff meetings, meeting regularly with managers to discuss, evaluate, and plan for the practice's welfare, and attending corporate meetings.
  • Administration and review of non-medical client complaints.
  • Overseeing client flow to ensure professional, timely, and competent treatment of clients and patients, including billing, discount calculations, and special accounts.
  • Monitoring purchasing and staff scheduling to ensure the practice operates within budget, and approving all expenditures within guidelines.
  • Ensuring OSHA and Safety program procedures are monitored and updated for safety compliance.
  • Reviewing income statements and financial data to identify revenue and hospital contribution improvement opportunities, and meeting regularly with veterinarians to review financial performance.
  • Reviewing accounts receivable for proper and timely processing.
  • Understanding, participating in, and supporting planned marketing events and programs, and ensuring staff utilizes marketing tools, materials, and events.
  • Reading and responding to all communication in a timely manner to ensure prompt communication of policies, guidelines, and recommendations to hospital staff, with adequate training following if needed.
