About The Position

The Senior Practice Manager provides operational leadership and strategic oversight for one or more medical practices within the organization. This position will provide interim leadership and operational support across various clinical departments, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations during leadership transitions. This position manages the centralized float pool team, volunteers, and oversees the clinical transport staff. In addition, this position leads or assists with clinical operations initiatives that enhance patient experience, workflow efficiency, and overall service excellence in alignment with UT Health's mission and values.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field is required.
  • Healthcare experience, specifically in an outpatient environment, is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team building abilities.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
  • Deep understanding of clinic operations, scheduling, revenue cycle, and patient flow.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and performance metrics.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with providers, staff, and cross functional teams.
  • Adaptability in a fast paced, evolving healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee assigned medical practices, ensuring smooth workflows, efficient patient throughput, and adherence to organizational standards.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to improve efficiency and quality of care.
  • Monitor clinic performance metrics, including patient access, wait times, provider productivity, and patient satisfaction.
  • Lead, mentor, and support practice supervisors, front office staff, clinical support teams, and others as assigned.
  • Manage staffing levels, recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations, as assigned.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage practice budgets, financial performance, and revenue cycle processes.
  • Monitor key financial indicators such as charge capture, collections, expenses, and provider productivity.
  • Partner with finance and revenue cycle teams to optimize billing accuracy and reduce denials.
  • Ensure a welcoming, patient centered environment that supports high quality care and service excellence.
  • Address escalated patient concerns and collaborate with clinical leaders to resolve issues.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and accreditation standards.
  • Serve as the operational partner to physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical leaders.
  • Support provider scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization to optimize patient access into the practice.
  • Facilitate communication between providers, staff, and administrative departments.
  • Participate in strategic planning for practice expansion, service line development, and operational enhancements.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Lead or support projects related to technology implementation, facility upgrades, and process redesign.
