About The Position

Locust Valley Veterinary Clinic, a proud 2-Time Innovetive Petcare Culture Award Winner, is looking for a compassionate, collaborative, and hands-on Veterinary Practice Manager to help lead their exceptional team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing leadership with patient care and believes that a thriving hospital starts with a supported team and an outstanding client experience. While LVT licensure is not required, candidates should have previous veterinary hospital experience, strong clinical knowledge, and a passion for developing people and creating positive hospital culture. As the Veterinary Practice Manager, you'll partner closely with the Managing Veterinarian and hospital leadership to oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice while serving as a visible, supportive presence for the team. This is a true hands-on leadership role.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years experience in a veterinary hospital or clinic (required).
  • Strong Veterinary Assistant or Technician skills: patient handling, assisting doctors/techs, treatment support, and clinic workflow.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary clinic operations and hospital flow.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and calm under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with practice management software is a plus.
  • LVT license welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of a small animal veterinary clinic.
  • Support hospital workflow, scheduling, and team coordination.
  • Assist on the floor with patient handling, restraint, and workflow support as needed.
  • Partner with the MDVM to manage staffing, scheduling, and performance.
  • Help drive client experience initiatives and client service standards.
  • Support administrative functions, including payroll coordination, inventory oversight, and hospital procedures.
  • Coach, support, and mentor team members.
  • Identify process improvements and help optimize hospital efficiency.
  • Act as a bridge between leadership and the hospital team.
