About The Position

The Practice Manager is responsible for the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of an assigned practice or department. This role provides leadership and support to administrative and clerical staff, works closely with providers and clinical teams, and ensures efficient workflows, quality patient service, appropriate staffing, and compliance with organizational policies and healthcare regulations. The Practice Manager supports routine financial and administrative activities while addressing the operational needs of the assigned practice.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of administrative or healthcare experience, including 2–3 years of office or practice management experience.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and other administrative tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience supervising or coordinating staff preferred.
  • Experience in a medical practice or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Ophthalmology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily administrative operations within the assigned practice or department to ensure efficient workflows, appropriate staffing, and timely completion of departmental responsibilities.
  • Lead and support administrative and clerical staff, including scheduling, training, performance feedback, and staff development.
  • Partner with providers and clinical staff to address operational needs, improve workflows, and support quality patient care.
  • Monitor timekeeping, attendance, leave, and payroll submissions in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Support routine financial activities, including expense tracking, budget monitoring, billing, and reimbursement processes.
  • Maintain office policies and procedures and support compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable healthcare regulations.
  • Coordinate staff licensure, certifications, required training, and other compliance-related records as needed.
  • Address patient and staff concerns professionally and identify opportunities to improve service and practice operations.
  • Provides backup coverage for other departmental positions and responsibilities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the department and organization.
