Job Summary: In partnership with the Practice Manager or Administrator, helps to oversee the daily operations of 1 medical practice with 1-3 providers, including personnel, financial, clerical, housekeeping, and maintenance and purchasing functions.

Requirements

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Five years' technical experience: Preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Certification Association (CMAC), American Medical Technologist (RMA), California Certifying Board of Medical Assistant (CCMA), Multiskilled Medical Certification Institute (National Certifying Board of Medical Assistants or NCMA) partnered with Nation center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or equivalent combination of licensure and experience: Required
  • Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP: Preferred
  • Phlebotomy certificate: Preferred
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or California Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Medical Assistant - NCCT (NCCT) or Certified Medical Assistant- NHA (CMA-NHA) or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Medical Assistant (MA) or American Medical Tech Board MA (MA-AMT) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT): Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
  • All associates receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable. Medical and religious exemptions may apply.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and performs certified medical assistant back office functions as needed.
  • Helps to oversee and give guidance to the operations of the assigned clinic/s.
  • Ensures clinics are operated in accordance with regulatory requirements and AHPS policies and procedures.
  • Communicates operational opportunities and best practices to the Practice Manager or Administrator.
  • Works with the Practice Manager or Administrator to ensure that the appropriate revenue management policies, procedures and systems are in place to allow for billing and collection effectiveness.
  • Utilizes the appropriate performance reporting structures, to include performance scorecards, operations and financial reporting (such as performance ratio analysis, and other region and/or clinic specific metrics).
  • Exercises independent judgment in training, coaching, overseeing assigned staff.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
