About The Position

As a member of our elite Executive team, you will have the opportunity to build and manage a team of professionals in Charleston, West Virginia and as part of our broader regional team. Working with the support of our leadership, your focus will be to expand our practice in southern West Virginia. Connecting client needs with innovative and creative solutions developed by our technical experts, leading project teams composed of staff throughout the firm in delivering these solutions and establishing RK&K as trusted advisers in transportation engineering and planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License in West Virginia or ability to obtain reciprocity
  • Fifteen (15)+ years of experience in engineering services with progressive responsibilities including business development and project delivery in West Virginia or the surrounding region
  • Be highly engaged in professional engineering/construction societies, regularly attending local meetings especially those with high levels of client participation
  • Capacity to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually, including strong technical and proposal writing skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Business Administration or similar

Responsibilities

  • Represent RK&K in front of existing and potential clients in West Virginia on all aspects of design, construction and maintenance projects
  • Work with our firm leadership and local team to develop a business strategy within Charleston and the surrounding region
  • Deliver and support transportation engineering and planning projects and tasks throughout the region and across the firm
  • Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and sub-consultant partners to pursue, win, and execute projects
  • Identify and create project opportunities by networking with potential clients, primarily state, regional and local agencies
  • Negotiate and manage project scopes of work, schedules, and budgets for a variety of projects
  • Mentor staff by training employees, establishing personal growth opportunities and conducting performance evaluations
