About The Position

The Practice Coordinator, Radiology is responsible for supporting the administrative and operational functions of Radiology and Interventional Radiology (IR) services. This position works closely with the Department Director and providers to facilitate efficient day-to-day operations, coordinate departmental needs, and ensure timely follow-through on key initiatives.

Requirements

Associate degree in healthcare administration, business administration, medical office administration, or a related field required
3+ years of experience in healthcare administration, medical practice operations, physician practice management, or a related healthcare setting.
Experience coordinating schedules, managing multiple priorities, and working with physicians and clinical staff.
Experience working with confidential healthcare information and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations.
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and high-priority tasks in a fast-paced medical practice while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage day-to-day practice operations, deadlines, and shifting priorities.
Working knowledge of medical practice operations, including physician scheduling, credentialing, billing, compliance, quality initiatives, and administrative processes.
Ability to proactively identify operational challenges and inefficiencies and coordinate effective solutions to improve workflow, efficiency, and patient care.
Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and ownership, with the ability to independently track responsibilities, resolve issues, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
Ability to effectively coordinate and communicate with physicians, practice leadership, administrators, clinical staff, hospital partners, and external stakeholders to ensure efficient operations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality, with professionalism when handling sensitive patient, physician, employee, and business information.

Responsibilities

Assists with creating and coordinating radiology schedules to ensure optimal staffing and efficient workflow for diagnostic and IR services; taking location, skill set, procedures, and all other relevant factors into account.
Track employee anniversaries and performance review timelines, proactively coordinating evaluations and reviews with department leadership and staff.
Assist with payroll processing, timekeeping, and compensation-related inquiries for all department staff.
Coordinate quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives in partnership with the respective Medical Directors.
Coordinates Ongoing and Focused Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE/FPPE) for clinicians, ensuring compliance with credentialing regulatory bodies and quality standards.
Assist the HR Credentialing Lead with maintaining required certifications, licensure, and hospital privileges for all physician and advanced practice providers.
Work collaboratively with billing teams to oversee coding accuracy, reimbursement tracking, and resolution of billing discrepancies.
Serve as a liaison between Health First and BPA for meetings, operational coordination, and administrative matters.
Identify workflow inefficiencies and coordinate process improvements to enhance efficiency, throughput, and patient care.
Support regulatory compliance and risk-management initiatives, including HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable healthcare requirements.
Provide administrative support to radiology providers and the Radiology Department Director, ensuring timely follow-through on departmental needs.
