About The Position

Join our team as a Practice Consultant, Knowledge Translation, a role that is responsible for acting as a subject matter expert and resource to registrants of the College, College staff, committees and the public on legislative requirements, standards of practice, policies and guidelines and their application to the practice of pharmacy. They will be responsible for identifying trends in practice issues and developing tools and materials to assist registrants and College staff. This is a contract position that will end in April 2028.

Requirements

  • Experience in a health policy/administration, public policy/administration or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of the health system and/or role of health regulatory bodies would be considered a strong asset.
  • Experience developing adult education material is considered an asset (knowledge translation).
  • Active Part A Pharmacist license in Ontario plus member in good standing with the College.
  • Must have 2 years of related experience in a pharmacy (Community and/or Hospital practice).
  • Minimum 3 years practice experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and respond to pharmacy practice inquiries (verbal and written) from the public, College registrants and staff.
  • Continuously monitor practice queries for trends. Conducting research to provide support in the development or revision of College standards, policies, guidelines and practice tools that support registrant practice as required.
  • Develop tools or materials for College registrants and staff to enhance understanding of legislative framework and practice expectations under the Code of Ethics, Standards, Policies and Guidelines.
  • Assist with reviewing and updating the College’s Practice website content, as required.
  • Ensure practice resources for the pharmacy profession are appropriate, innovative, timely and result in active uptake while aligned with organizational approach and the College Performance Measurement Framework (CPMF).
  • Develop a feedback loop to assess resource appropriateness and registrant and staff understanding of the practice resources created.
  • Support College initiatives including committees and working groups, as requested.
  • Act as a resource and provide legislative guidance to the staff of the College.
  • Develop strategies to ensure OCP is using knowledge to produce action resulting in safe quality care as aligned with our mandate.
  • Develop various communication modalities for complex concepts and findings in clear, simple language for a wide range of audiences.
  • Support College staff with various organizational and departmental goals and/or projects related to KT initiatives.
  • Continually examine work process and identify opportunities for improving efficiencies through technology, elimination or altering of work processes and make recommendations to the Manager.
  • Work within records management principles and guidelines for record keeping.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
