Brigham and Women's Primary Care Associates, Longwood, is an internal medicine practice opening in January 2015, located in the Longwood Medical Area near the Brigham and Women’s Hospital main campus. The practice aims to foster healing relationships between patients and their healthcare team, support an outstanding educational experience for future healthcare professionals, and test innovative models of primary care delivery. It will continuously improve in a way that is accessible for study and dissemination, meet the health needs of the local community and Brigham and Women’s employees and dependents, and contribute to improved population health. The practice must be financially sustainable and scalable to all primary care practices in the Brigham system and will work towards being certified at the highest level as a Patient-Centered Medical Home. Practice assistants are crucial for creating the first impression of the practice and act as advocates for patients and their families, helping them navigate the healthcare system to receive necessary care.
