Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our leadership team in the role of Practice Administrator, Primary Care. The Practice Administrator leads and directs the operational performance of the organization’s medical practices, ensuring efficient, high-quality care delivery aligned with organizational goals. This role is responsible for enforcing policies and procedures while fostering clear communication and active engagement among staff to support cohesive practice operations. The administrator oversees daily functions, including staffing, workflow optimization, practice growth, service excellence, and financial management. With full accountability for both operational effectiveness and financial outcomes, this role drives continuous improvement and ensures the practices consistently meet performance, quality, and patient satisfaction targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field required.
  • 7–10 years of experience as a healthcare professional.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in an ambulatory care setting.
  • 3–5 years of concurrent management experience overseeing physician practice operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare delivery systems, practice management, basic accounting/finance, and healthcare regulations/legislation.
  • Familiarity with benchmarking methodologies and best practice research.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and standard applications.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, move, or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Health Administration (MHA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
