About The Position
This employee provides skilled nursing services to patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse Manager-1. Must be available for Mandatory Overtime. This is a drug and alcohol tested (DART) position under the criteria provided in the collective bargaining unit agreement, as the incumbent has regular and direct contact with hospital patients. The preferred and appointed candidate will be subject to pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty and follow-up drug and/or alcohol testing. All staff with start dates on/after 08/17/2026 will train at the Southeast Michigan Psychiatric Hospital (SMPH) in Northville but, upon completion of training may work at the Walter Reuther Psychiatric Hospital (WRPH) until their position/classification officially moves from WRPH to SMPH at a date yet to be determined.
Requirements
- Possession of a certificate from a practical nursing education program accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.
- No specific type or amount of experience is required.
- Michigan licensure as a Practical Nurse.
- Must be available for Mandatory Overtime.
- Successful completion of a background investigation and a criminal record check.
