About The Position

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Mission Engineer Level 3 or Level 4 to join their team in Dulles, VA. Successful candidates will work in a technical role for space and ground programs, supporting next-generation space capabilities. This position offers the opportunity to work on exciting, cutting-edge programs and new mission areas. The role operates on a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. This position can be filled at either a Level 3 or Level 4.

Requirements

  • Requires an active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application
  • Experience with a space or ground system development program
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and practices
  • Experience in requirements management, system architecture development, and CONOPs.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience or Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience or PhD with 1 year of professional experience (for Level 3)
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience or Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience or PhD with 4 years of professional experience (for Level 4)

  • Experience in Space Superiority mission design, satellite ground software, distributed modeling & simulation
  • Understanding of system of system architecture designs the interplay between various national security customers and products
  • Mission system requirements, verification/validation planning, mission planning/execution, mission analysis, modeling/simulation, system trade studies
  • Proficiency in any modeling and simulation tools: Cameo, STK, Matlab, AFSIM, Python
