Job Description Objectives: Maintain the cleanliness of the building and clean empty rooms.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of French and English
• Ability to work independently
• Knowledge of WHMIS chemical safety measures
• First aid for job retention
• Must submit a criminal record check (vulnerable sector check) deemed acceptable by The Salvation Army, at its sole discretion, if required
• Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for the Canada Summer Jobs program, including age and legal status in Canada
• Individuals requiring employer-specific work authorization (e.g., international students with study permits) are not eligible for this program
• New immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of the building
• Clean empty rooms
• Perform heavy cleaning tasks such as washing walls, windows, ceilings, light fixtures, chalkboards
• Clean floors, strip and wax floors, remove stains from floors
• Remove garbage and recycling bin contents
• Dust hard-to-reach areas
• Clean showers and toilets
• Perform the same job description as a housekeeping attendant when replacing one due to absence
• Clean and disinfect empty rooms
• Strip and wax floors
• Perform any other duties inherent to the position requested by the immediate supervisor
