About The Position

As the Powertrain Planning Analyst for Ford Racing, you will be the strategic engine behind our physical engines. You will be responsible for carrying out all Powertrain Planning workstreams required to deliver pre- powertrain milestones. This is a highly visible, cross-functional role. You will interact extensively with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and other business units to lead unit programs through the milestone approval process. Utilizing strong critical thinking skills and data-driven analysis, you will develop and communicate well-reasoned points of view to ensure our performance derivatives are not only thrilling, but highly profitable.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Powertrain Planning, Program Management, or Product Strategy.
  • A deep, genuine passion for performance vehicles, motorsports, the customer, and product innovation.
  • Strong critical thinking and organizational skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable strategies.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. You must be able to craft a compelling narrative to secure buy-in from diverse stakeholders.
  • A self-motivated "bias for action." You are eager to take ownership, deliver results with minimal supervision, and embody the Ford OS behaviors (Own it, Deliver It).
  • Experience working successfully across cultural and organizational borders to build consensus.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) paired with a technical or engineering undergraduate degree.
  • Direct experience participating in Formula SAE, Baja SAE, or competitive amateur motorsports.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills or certifications (e.g., FMVA) to support complex business case development.
  • Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, CAPM) or experience utilizing advanced program tracking tools.
  • Familiarity with hybrid and EV performance powertrains to help future-proof Ford Racing's portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the voice of Ford Racing with base vehicle programs, enabling the creation of highly profitable, high-performance derivatives.
  • Drive competitive cost and investment targets to ensure compatibility with profitability goals and strategic pricing. Lead comprehensive business case analyses for various unit choices.
  • Create Milestone papers, lead cross-functional pre-reviews, and develop the narratives, financial schedules, and deliverable assessments required to secure executive approval.
  • Develop and maintain unit assumptions to support the planning process. Utilize appropriate tools to track open items, complete requisite deliverables, and lead the documentation of solutions.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership by proactively anticipating key issues and addressing them across organizational borders before they impact the program.
