About The Position

Hunter Power Sports is looking for an Entry Level Powersports Technician who is eager to develop mechanical skills while working on motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, and personal watercraft. This position is ideal for someone with foundational mechanical knowledge who wants hands-on experience diagnosing, assembling, servicing, and maintaining powersports vehicles. If you enjoy working with engines, tools, and mechanical systems, we want to help you build your career in the powersports industry. As an Entry Level Powersports Technician, you will assist with vehicle maintenance, assembly, inspections, and diagnostic work while learning from experienced technicians. You will gain exposure to a variety of powersports equipment and develop the technical skills needed to grow within the service department.

Requirements

  • Understanding of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engine operation
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools
  • Familiarity with basic diagnostic equipment such as multimeters
  • Valid driver's license
  • Motorcycle endorsement required or obtainable within 90 days

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, fluid replacement, tire installation, and brake service
  • Assist with mechanical repairs and service work on powersports vehicles
  • Support preventative maintenance procedures to help maintain vehicle performance and reliability
  • Assist senior technicians in diagnosing electrical, fuel, and mechanical concerns
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment and testing procedures to identify vehicle issues
  • Learn how powersports systems work together to support accurate repairs
  • Assemble new motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, and personal watercraft
  • Perform safety inspections during assembly and setup processes
  • Verify units meet operational and quality standards before delivery
  • Install accessories including winches, plow systems, lighting components, and performance upgrades
  • Ensure all installed components meet safety and operational standards
  • Complete detailed inspections of new units before customer delivery
  • Verify proper operation of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Document inspection results and required adjustments
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Properly maintain tools and equipment
  • Follow dealership safety procedures and shop standards
