About The Position

This position is for a high school teacher under contract with a district in Douglas, Dodge, Sarpy, or Washington counties to teach MCC Powersports courses for dual credit at their home high school. Metropolitan Community College is a comprehensive, full-service public community college supported by the taxpayers of Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington counties. Its purpose is to provide high quality educational programs and services, primarily in career preparation and general education, to people of all ages and educational backgrounds. MCC was created in 1974 when the Nebraska State Legislature consolidated the original eight technical community college areas into six. That year, the programs, personnel, assets and liabilities of the former Omaha Nebraska Technical Community College Area merged with the Eastern Nebraska Technical Community College Area under a new name: the Metropolitan Technical Community College Area. In 1992, the Legislature voted to change the name to Metropolitan Community College Area. Requirements

  • 8 years of FT related occupational experience OR approved Journey-worker status OR 4 years FT related occupational experience PLUS Associate’s degree in career field OR 2 years FT related occupational experience PLUS Bachelor’s degree in discipline or related discipline.
  • Factory certification from national manufacturer, such as Polaris, Yamaha or others.
  • Currently employed high school teacher who will be under contract with a local school district in Douglas, Dodge, Sarpy or Washington counties

Responsibilities

  • Deliver MCC course objectives in the high school dual credit classroom
  • Ensure academic rigor aligns with on-campus expectations
  • Participate in departmental course assessments
  • Complete required curriculum training
  • Maintain an MCC-aligned course syllabus
  • Uphold professional and ethical standards
