About The Position

The Powerline Foreman plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical power distribution and transmission lines. This position ensures that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations. The foreman coordinates and supervises a team of linemen and technicians, providing technical guidance and support to achieve project goals. They are responsible for planning daily work schedules, managing resources, and communicating effectively with project managers and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a lineman with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical powerline construction, maintenance, and safety standards.
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions safely.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with both overhead and underground powerline systems.
  • Familiarity with utility industry software and project management tools.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or technical training related to powerline work.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills demonstrated through prior supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a crew of linemen in the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground powerlines.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan and organize daily work assignments, including resource allocation and equipment management.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to monitor work quality and adherence to technical specifications.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to crew members to promote skill development and safety awareness.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project timelines and objectives are met.
  • Respond promptly to emergency outages and coordinate restoration efforts to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and incidents reported.
