About The Position

Under general supervision, the Powerhouse Maintenance Technician will be responsible for operating all equipment associated with the Engine Room. This includes but not limited to doing PM’s, repairing and operation of all refrigeration equipment, air compressors, HVAC, MAUS, cooling coils, boilers/steam, potable water system, temping and chilling hogs to specific temperatures. The team member is also responsible for doing rounds in which all types of readings are taken and recorded for operational purposes. This Team Member needs to able to record any operational changes made in a log and can communicate the changes during turnover with the next shift. This Team Member needs to be able to follow all safety rules which include but not limited to following Tyson core safety mandates, wear PPE, must be able to wear a respirator and be SCBA / HAZMAT certified, clean-shaven and be a member of the hazmat team. This team member must be able to work assigned shifts and weekends and must be able to read and understand manuals, execute and document work completed on scheduling sheet. Must maintain SCBA, APR and Hazmat Team Status. Must not get 2 or more safety infractions and no more than 2 performance disciplines. Daily work will be determined and assigned by supervisor. Ability to work in any assigned area or department, which may include exposure to cold, damp, hot, or humid environmental conditions. Maintenance schedules will be required to work outside of regularly scheduled shifts, including weekends, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, based on business and operational needs. Employees may be scheduled to work consecutive days as required by business needs and applicable company policies. I.E. Switchover Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, which may include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, move, or otherwise handle materials as required by the assigned work area. Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal. Must be able to read, write and interpret equipment, general safety procedures, to ensure the safety of our team members. Responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and accurately completing all required documentation associated with assigned job duties and maintenance activities. Responsible for maintaining accountability for company-issued and assigned tools, including proper use, care, storage, and reporting of lost, damaged, or malfunctioning tools in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Resume must be attached to Internal Application with Related Work History and/or experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED from accredited institution is required.
  • Excellent safety record with no active safety violations.
  • Three (3) points or fewer on attendance and maintain three (3) points or fewer.
  • Completion of 90-day probationary period.
  • No suspension in the previous 12 months.
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator.
  • Must be SCBA / HAZMAT certified.
  • Must be clean-shaven.
  • Must be a member of the hazmat team.

Responsibilities

  • Operating all equipment associated with the Engine Room.
  • Performing PM’s on refrigeration equipment, air compressors, HVAC, MAUS, cooling coils, boilers/steam, potable water system.
  • Repairing and operating refrigeration equipment, air compressors, HVAC, MAUS, cooling coils, boilers/steam, potable water system.
  • Temping and chilling hogs to specific temperatures.
  • Taking and recording readings during rounds for operational purposes.
  • Recording any operational changes made in a log.
  • Communicating operational changes during turnover with the next shift.
  • Following all safety rules, including Tyson core safety mandates.
  • Wearing PPE, including a respirator.
  • Maintaining SCBA, APR and Hazmat Team Status.
  • Working assigned shifts and weekends.
  • Reading and understanding manuals.
  • Executing and documenting work completed on scheduling sheet.
  • Working in any assigned area or department, which may include exposure to cold, damp, hot, or humid environmental conditions.
