About The Position

Operates power washer to remove all visible manure, dirt, debris, and staining on surfaces within animal production facilities, materials, and animal transportation vehicles. Also, support in the breeding department every third weekend.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 Lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate pressure washer machinery safely and effectively to clean a variety of surfaces as indicated by supervision.
  • Use degreasers and/or removal chemicals as label recommends when requested by your supervision.
  • Maintain established schedule as requested and provide feedback to improve schedule efficiency.
  • Clean up debris and other waste materials from areas being washed.
  • Carry out company biosecurity and safety procedures.
  • Read plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities, and ask questions if in doubt.
  • Keep tools and equipment in good working order.
  • Any other manual duties as directed by supervision.
  • Always wear eye protection while not at the farm's office or break room.
  • Wear a safety shield or safety glasses while power washing, to always protect your eyes.
  • Wear safety glasses or safety googles when disinfecting to protect eyes from disinfectant.
  • Shut power washer off when done power washing.
  • Use the appropriate amount of power washer pumps while power washing according to the equipment being used, as directed by supervision.
  • Provide general maintenance of power washing equipment: Check oil on the power washer every day before washing or as directed by supervision.
  • Check the water filter once a week or as directed by supervision.
  • If using a power washer robot: Set up the robot to wash as instructed by supervision.
  • Make sure that the twin hose won't be overly worn by an incorrect anchoring of the robot, as instructed by supervision.
  • Properly perform the robot daily cleaning and greasing, as instructed by supervision.
  • Properly perform the daily robot checklist as directed by supervision.
  • Report any malfunction of equipment to supervision.
  • Advocate and engage in SFI's animal welfare policy, including promoting animal well-being, remedying circumstances which impede animal care, and properly reporting instances of mistreatment or abuse.
