About The Position

The Power Truck Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a power truck to handle materials within the plant. This role involves performing daily inspections, managing inbound and outbound loads using a scanner, sorting and preparing materials for shipment, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The operator will also be responsible for battery maintenance for equipment and ensuring a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

  • One year of Material Movement experience.
  • One year of power truck experience.
  • GED or High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

  • Obeys all plant/safety rules and complies with all OSHA/TOSHA regulations.
  • Performs daily inspections of power truck before operating and reports any issues immediately to shift supervisor.
  • Receives, verifies, and processes inbound/outbound loads through a hand-held scanner.
  • Sorts by hand, palletizes, bands, and stretch-films inbound/outbound pallet loads.
  • Transports material in a safe and efficient manner from one location to another.
  • Loads and unloads trailers and trains manually and/or with power truck equipment.
  • Records inventory transactions using a hand-held bar code scanner or other required methods.
  • Performs material handling duties including selection of material and repalletizing of spilled loads.
  • Maintains inventory by selecting, shipping, or locating material with a bar code scanner.
  • Assists in preparing material for shipment, including labeling and staging.
  • Accurately counts material and completes paperwork for proper shipment documentation.
  • Maintains the charging and changing of batteries for forklifts, hand-held scanners, printer labels, and printer ribbons.
  • Delivers or locates inbound materials as required.
  • Operates forklift and handles material safely to prevent damage.
  • Conducts daily and weekly safety audits of the area with the shift supervisor.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
