The Power Truck Operator is responsible for obeying all plant/safety rules and complying with all OSHA/TOSHA regulations. This role involves performing daily inspections of the power truck before operation and reporting any issues immediately to the shift supervisor. The operator will receive, verify, and process inbound/outbound loads using a handheld scanner, and will sort, palletize, band, and stretch-film inbound/outbound pallet loads. Material will be transported safely and efficiently between locations, and trailers and trains will be loaded and unloaded manually and/or with power truck equipment. Inventory transactions will be recorded using a handheld bar code scanner or other required methods. The role also includes performing material handling duties such as selecting material and repalletizing spilled loads, and maintaining inventory by selecting, shipping, or locating material with a bar code scanner. Assistance will be provided in preparing material for shipment, including labeling and staging products. The position requires skill in using bar scanning, operating all types of power trucks, and understanding material flow processes.
