We are seeking a talented Power Systems Services Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of digital transformation for the energy sector, developing and delivering advanced software solutions that empower Electric Utilities, ISOs, and grid operators to maintain resilient, efficient, and reliable power networks. You will own the technical delivery of critical functions throughout the entire project lifecycle—from initial functional specifications and design to coding, testing, integration, and final deployment. You won’t just be a developer; you will be a strategic partner to our clients, translating complex technical needs into robust, high-performance software applications that define the future of Grid Management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Power Systems or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) plus at least two (2) years development or project delivery experience in related field or
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
Nice To Haves
- Work and/or academic experience in the power systems area.
- Excellent programming skills in C++, Java or other related language, as required.
- Knowledge on Perl, PowerShell and SQL (MSSQL and/or T-SQL) scripting
- Knowledge and experience with electric utility industry practices
- Strong knowledge of customer perspective and needs.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the implementation of MES solutions utilizing the Software Suite SCADA, ADMS, DNAF and OMS.
- Own technical deliverables during the entire lifecycle of the projects.
- Engage throughout the full lifecycle of assigned projects, participating in decisions on architecture, design, and functionality to keep programs on track in terms of budget, time, and customer expectations.
- Work closely with the client to understand their needs and develop strategies tailored to their organization through site assessments.
- Make standard recommendations on workflow, application, interface, reports, testing and uploads to customers through the implementation process.
- Is responsible for go-live readiness and support as well as post-live checkups and will be required to work collaboratively with internal team members and clients to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Act as a member in Software Center of Excellence, representing the face of high-quality design and development practices.
- Implement new functionalities in power system application software which includes DMS (Distribution Management System), DTS (Dispatcher Training Simulator) and Modeling (EMS/DTS/Oil and Gas and Distribution) applications.
- For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE.
