About The Position

Ramboll is hiring a Power Systems Project Manager focused on data centers to own project planning, execution, and delivery across data center, mission-critical, and pre-investment infrastructure engagements. The role manages scope, schedule, and budget for multidisciplinary projects involving substation design, generation and load interconnection, and early-stage site feasibility. It serves as the primary client contact, advising clients with limited energy-infrastructure experience and representing Ramboll with investors, developers, and economic development agencies. The position coordinates technical leads and disciplines to deliver integrated, constructible designs; manages subconsultants, vendors, and contract administration; and supports feasibility studies, power availability assessments, and preliminary master planning. It also contributes to proposals and business development, manages project risks, ensures quality and standards compliance, and mentors assistant project managers and early-career staff. The role is part of Ramboll’s Power Systems Department and supports projects across data centers, mission-critical power, and pre-investment infrastructure development.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in power systems or electrical infrastructure project delivery, with demonstrated ownership of project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Working knowledge of substation design, power generation, generation/load interconnection processes, and transmission planning fundamentals.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants on complex infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to advise clients with limited energy-infrastructure development experience.
  • Proven track record contributing to proposals, fee estimation, and business development.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, or large-load client engagements is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO/RTO interconnection queue processes, such as ISO-NE, NYISO, and PJM, and their implications for project schedule and risk.
  • PMP certification or active pursuit of PMP certification.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license; it is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Own project plans, schedules, and budgets, track performance against milestones and financial targets, and drive corrective action as needed.
  • Serve as the primary client contact for data center developers, investors, property developers, and economic development agencies; translate objectives into project scope and guide clients through energy-infrastructure development.
  • Lead multidisciplinary coordination across substation design, protection and control, civil/structural, power generation, and interconnection disciplines.
  • Manage subconsultants, vendors, and contract administration for assigned projects.
  • Support early-stage feasibility studies, power availability assessments, and preliminary master planning for pre-investment and greenfield data center site opportunities.
  • Identify and manage project risks and develop and track mitigation strategies with technical leads.
  • Lead preparation of proposals, fee estimates, and client presentations, contributing to business development for data center and mission-critical clients.
  • Ensure compliance with Ramboll QA/QC procedures and applicable industry standards.
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers and early-career staff supporting projects.
  • Coordinate with Interconnection and Substation Engineering teams to ensure client-facing commitments are technically grounded and deliverable.
