About The Position

E-logic is seeking a skilled, reliable, and highly qualified Power Systems Generator Mechanic to perform comprehensive preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on emergency standby power generators at Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico. The auxiliary generator fleet consists of approximately 45 units ranging from 40 KW to 1840 KW. You will ensure maximum operational readiness and contract compliance in a tropical environment, strictly adhering to U.S. Army regulations, manufacturer specifications, and safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience working directly on generator sets and associated power generation systems.
  • Thorough mechanical and electrical mastery of powered support systems, AC/DC electric power generation, multi-drive gear units, pressure regulators, harness wiring, and metering systems.
  • Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate clearly and fluently in English.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and hold necessary certifications or licenses required by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
  • Must be a legal U.S. resident.
  • Must be able to pass a baseline background check via the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Interstate Identification Index (III) to secure unescorted installation access.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine PM on auxiliary generators in strict accordance with TM 5-682, TM 5-683, TM 5-684, TM 5-811-3, and established checklists.
  • Conduct meticulous checks on engine components (oil, filters, coolant, fuel lines, belts, hoses) and generator assemblies (rotor, stator, exciter, voltage regulators, batteries, control systems, and exhaust).
  • Diagnose, completely disassemble, reassemble, overhaul, and adjust complex diesel and gasoline reciprocating engines, governing components, hydraulic/pneumatic controls, and switching systems.
  • Partner with site activities and the COR/ACOR to schedule and execute electrical testing and load bank simulations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, log replacement parts, and report repair requirements exceeding the standard PM scope within 24 hours of identification.
  • Maintain safe operations under OSHA standards and adhere strictly to base key/combination security control protocols.
