About The Position

The Power Platform Developer designs, builds and supports robotic process automation solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, primarily Power Automate and Power Apps. Works closely with the business and IT teams to automate manual, repetitive processes, integrate systems, and improve operational efficiency while adhering to security, audit, and compliance standards typical of financial institutions.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with IT concepts such as environments, permissions, and change management preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-assisted tools to accelerate automation development and optimization preferred.
  • Exposure to Power Platform governance, environments, or Dataverse preferred.
  • Understanding audit controls, data security, or compliance requirements preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and clear documentation/communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of workflow logic, conditional branching, error handling, and automation lifecycle management.
  • Experience with Copilot Studio or integrating Copilot-enabled experiences into business processes preferred.
  • Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and system integrations preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field.
  • Power Automate and Power Apps certification preferred.
  • SQL certification preferred.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in automation, RPA concepts (unattended automations, scheduling, and exception queues), or Power Platform development.
  • 1–2 years of experience with Microsoft Power Automate and Power Apps.
  • 1–2 years of SQL experience, including writing queries for reporting, validation, or automation logic preferred.
  • 3-4 years of hands-on experience in automation, RPA concepts (unattended automations, scheduling, and exception queues), or Power Platform development.
  • 3–4 years of experience with Microsoft Power Automate and Power Apps.
  • 2–3 years of SQL experience, including writing queries for reporting, validation, or automation logic preferred.
  • 5-6 years of hands-on experience in automation, RPA concepts (unattended automations, scheduling, and exception queues), or Power Platform development.
  • 4–5 years of experience with Microsoft Power Automate and Power Apps.
  • 2 -3 years of SQL experience, including writing queries for reporting, validation, or automation logic preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Power Automate workflows (cloud flows and/or desktop flows) for business-critical processes.
  • Build and maintain Power Apps (canvas apps preferred) to support automation-driven workflows, data entry, and approvals.
  • Maintain and enhance existing automations to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability.
  • Create robust flow logic using conditions, loops, expressions, error handling, and retry patterns.
  • Follow secure coding and automation best practices, including environment separation and solution-based deployments where applicable.
  • Integrate Power Automate flows with internal systems, SharePoint, Dataverse, file systems, email, and third-party applications.
  • Consume and work with REST APIs, including handling authentication, request/response payloads, and JSON data structures.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure automation accuracy and data integrity.
  • Analyze existing business processes and document as-is workflows, automation logic, and dependencies.
  • Assist in designing future-state automated solutions, identifying technical constraints and optimization opportunities.
  • Implement logging, exception handling, and notifications within automation workflows.
  • Monitor automation runs and troubleshoot failures or performance issues.
  • Lead discovery workshops to map current state (as-is), identify root causes, quantify pain points, and propose future state (to-be).
  • Own the testing strategy with business: test plans, scripts, defect triage, and sign-off workflows.
  • Owns the technical roadmap for automation delivery (standards, patterns, governance alignment).
  • Leads enterprise-impact initiatives and multi-system integrations.
  • Acts as escalation point for design, reliability, performance, security, and audit concerns.
  • Drives outcomes through influence: business leaders, risk/compliance, IT/security, operations.
  • Accountable for team-level quality: reviews, standards, mentorship, and delivery consistency.
  • Establish and maintain development standards: naming conventions, error handling, observability, logging strategy, monitoring dashboards, notifications, and runbook expectations.
  • Lead design reviews and approve solution designs for complex/high-risk automations.
  • Build and maintain a reusable automation library (templates, components, shared patterns, connector strategies).
