About The Position

The Power Plant Operator is responsible for providing maintenance services and overall operations, ensuring the completion of assigned work order projects and the continued operation of the cogeneration plant. This role involves performing a wide variety of skilled maintenance activities on systems such as HVAC, alarms (Direct Digital Control), Emergency Generator Systems, Computer Monitoring Systems, Steam and Hot Water Boilers, and the Co-Generation plant, along with any other duties as directed.

Requirements

• High School graduate or recognized equivalent.
• Formal trade/vocational school training or five (5) years related experience.
• Ability to use standard hand tools, machinery and equipment plus precision measuring tools.
• Basic to advanced knowledge of Direct Digital Control systems and PLC based Plant Control Systems, Steam Boilers and/or Cogeneration systems and operations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to prepare material takeoffs.
• Basic to advanced code and regulatory knowledge.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of apprenticeship program preferred.
• Participates in orientation and continuing education in order to maintain the knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
• Completes population specific competency annually on populations served as identified in scope of care and service.

Responsibilities
