About The Position

We are looking for a Power Plant Engineer to provide engineering support to improve plant reliability, efficiency, and overall performance. You will work with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to monitor plant equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, lead root cause investigations, manage engineering projects, and implement reliability improvements across the facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting power plant operations, maintenance, reliability, or engineering in a utility, energy, or heavy industrial environment.
  • Experience with electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems within an industrial facility.
  • Experience with DCS, PLCs, transformers, switchgear, protective relays, and MCCs.
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance and condition monitoring technologies, including vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis.
  • Experience in combined-cycle, simple-cycle, or fossil-fueled power generation facilities.
  • Familiarity with OSIsoft PI, CEMS, DAHS, and plant performance monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge of NERC reliability standards and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting combustion turbines, steam turbines, and HRSG systems.
  • Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • We prefer Electrical Engineering; we will consider Mechanical Engineering, Power Generation Engineering, or other related engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and optimize plant performance, reliability, and efficiency for combustion turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, and auxiliary systems.
  • Investigate equipment failures, forced outages, and abnormal operating conditions, conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, including DCS, PLCs, protective relays, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and MCCs.
  • Perform condition monitoring and predictive maintenance activities using vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and other reliability tools.
  • Lead engineering studies, equipment upgrades, and capital projects while coordinating with operations, maintenance, contractors, and vendors.
  • Maintain engineering documentation, plant drawings, and configuration controls to ensure compliance with company, regulatory, and safety requirements.
