About The Position

The incumbent must be able to use basic mechanics hand tools, weld, read blueprints, cut and thread pipe, perform layout procedures and calculations, repair and adjust; hydraulic, air conditioning, water systems, overhead cranes, cooling towers, rig cables, operate mobile equipment, repair pumps; motors, fans, compressors, conveyers, power transmission equipment and repair & adjust gas & coal combustion systems. Fabricate & install structures.

Requirements

Must be able to use basic mechanics hand tools
Must be able to weld
Must be able to read blueprints
Must be able to cut and thread pipe
Must be able to perform layout procedures and calculations
Must be able to repair and adjust hydraulic systems
Must be able to repair and adjust air conditioning systems
Must be able to repair and adjust water systems
Must be able to repair and adjust overhead cranes
Must be able to repair and adjust cooling towers
Must be able to rig cables
Must be able to operate mobile equipment
Must be able to repair pumps
Must be able to repair motors
Must be able to repair fans
Must be able to repair compressors
Must be able to repair conveyers
Must be able to repair power transmission equipment
Must be able to repair and adjust gas combustion systems
Must be able to repair and adjust coal combustion systems
Must be able to fabricate & install structures
Perform basic mathematical skills.
Use basic hand and power tools.
Read blueprints and schematics correctly.
Utilize safety in all areas of the work environment.
Perform pipe fitter skills.
Perform hydraulic and pneumatic skills.
Perform rigging skills.
Operate equipment (mobile crane, forklift, man-lift)
Perform repairs on pumps, motors, fan, compressors, boilers, conveyors, power transmission (including setting and alignment)
Perform welding skills.
Perform combustion skills.
Fabricate & install sheet metal & structures.
Use personal computer for obtaining information, documenting time, etc.
Perform housekeeping.
Participate in all required training, safety activities.
Perform equipment and system troubleshooting as required.
Understand and apply Alcoa business systems principles.
