About The Position

Weingartz is seeking a Power Equipment Sales Associate for their Ann Arbor, MI location. This role involves retail floor sales of various power equipment, including handheld equipment, walk-behind equipment, lawn and garden tractors, and zero-turn riders to homeowners. The associate will focus on creating an interactive and engaging customer experience, identifying customer needs, and recommending appropriate products. This position requires demonstrating the safe and effective use of equipment, maintaining showroom appearance, and assisting with equipment loading and demonstrations. Interactions will occur in-store, via phone, email, and text, with follow-up on quotes and past sales to maximize opportunities. A strong understanding of product specifications, pricing, and functionality is essential.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of Retail, Sales, or Customer Service experience is required
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Ability to work independently with light supervision in an efficient manner
  • Careful attention to detail; careful attention to numbers
  • Basic math and computer skills are required
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Responsibilities

  • Retail floor sales of all handheld equipment, walk-behind equipment, lawn and garden tractors, and zero-turn riders to homeowners.
  • Build customer confidence by making the store experience interactive, engaging, and reassuring.
  • Maximize customer experience by “solving the whole problem” and identifying customer needs.
  • Use suggestive selling and recommend items that appeal to customer budget and needs.
  • Answer customer questions regarding product offerings, pricing, and billing.
  • Handle customer escalations.
  • Assist customers in making decisions about equipment based on their needs and desires.
  • Follow up on quotes and past sales to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Demonstrate the safe and effective use of equipment to customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of product specifications, price, function, and comparison to competing products.
  • Maintain showroom appearance, including cleanliness of equipment, floors, and displays, and proper merchandising.
  • Load customer equipment and provide demonstrations of purchased equipment.
  • Prep handheld equipment.
