About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Power Electronics Engineer to join our team in Bohemia, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for the analysis, modeling, simulation, design, and development of switch-mode power supplies ranging from 10W to 2000W. This includes all stages from initial concept and circuit design through prototyping, testing, validation, and production. You will design and develop cost-effective, high-performance AC/DC power conversion circuits for next-generation power supply products, including single-phase and polyphase, high-frequency, offline switch-mode converters and inverters for various applications such as desktop computing, servers, telecommunications, and motor drives. The position requires optimizing designs for conversion efficiency, power density, reliability, thermal performance, and overall cost. You will also conduct circuit simulations, perform design calculations, and execute electrical testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, preparation of technical documentation, and support for prototype development and product qualification are key aspects of this role. Staying current with power electronics advancements and traveling as required are also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of switch-mode power supplies, AC/DC conversion, power electronics, and analog circuit design principles.
  • Familiarity with circuit simulation and engineering calculation tools such as PSpice and Mathcad.
  • Understanding of electrical circuit analysis, power conversion topologies, component selection, and design validation methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical findings and communicate design concepts.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing project priorities in a product development environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of experience in analog circuit design or power electronics development preferred; new graduates with relevant academic projects or technical experience are welcome to apply.
