Power Electronics Engineer - Field Deployment
About The Position
The Power Electronics Engineer for the installation program will own converting the output of the microturbines brought on-site into the 800VDC the first site requires. This includes designing, procuring, and installing every piece of power electronics between the turbines and the DC bus bar. The role is based in San Francisco, with expected stretches of weeks on-site during installation and commissioning. The engineer will take the design from paper to a working installation and be present for commissioning to ensure performance. This is a hands-on role where the engineer is accountable for the end-to-end interface working correctly.
Requirements
- Experience designing and deploying power conversion equipment at industrial scale (AC-to-DC conversion, motor drives, grid-tie inverters).
- Experience taking a design from schematic through a working, commissioned installation.
- Comfortable being on-site through commissioning.
