RCT Systems, Power Systems Division, is seeking Electrical Engineers, with preference towards specialities in Power Electronics Hardware and/or Control Design, or medium or high voltage power systems. Entry- and junior-level applicants to RCT Systems Power Systems Division (PSD), without specific experience or education in power conversion and/or power systems, are encouraged to provide cover letters to their resume/CV that address the gap between their background and the core work that we perform here at RCT PSD (solid-state power conversion). Responsibilities of a qualified candidate will include: Design and test WBG- (SiC or GaN) based power electronic converter topologies including active rectifiers, isolated DC-DC converters, solid-state-transformers, and high-speed motor drives. Design and test power electronic converter digital control algorithms. Develop Controller-Hardware-in-the-Loop (CHIL) or real-time (RT) test setups. Design and test systems based on WBG semiconductor modules ranging from 1.2 kV to 10 kV. Additionally, mid-level engineers may also expect to: Lead cross-functional teams to develop solid-state power conversion systems. Provide technical input into business development activities. Create, review, and issue prototype and production level test procedures and test plans. Write and/or review EE focused patents, whitepapers, and technical conference/journal articles. Mentor junior Engineers.
