Power Distribution Production Lead - Second Shift

About The Position

We’re looking for a hands-on leader to guide day-to-day production of power distribution assemblies. This role combines technical assembly work with team coordination, ensuring projects move efficiently from build to test while meeting quality and safety expectations. You’ll serve as a key point of contact between the production floor, engineering, and leadership. This position reports directly to the Power Distribution Foreman.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in electrical or mechanical assembly within a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience leading, supervising, or coordinating a team
  • Familiarity with structured manufacturing processes (ISO environment experience preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
  • Experience planning or coordinating production workflows and schedules
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with standard office software
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Good communication skills and ability to work across teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating forklifts or overhead cranes is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations for a team assembling power distribution equipment, ensuring work is completed efficiently and on schedule
  • Assign tasks and provide guidance to production staff to keep builds moving and aligned with priorities
  • Actively participate in hands-on assembly, including both mechanical builds and electrical wiring of control components
  • Ensure all assemblies meet workmanship standards and function as intended
  • Collaborate with testing personnel to coordinate unit testing and resolve any issues that arise
  • Safely operate equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes to support production and material movement (training available)
  • Coordinate shipping activities, including preparing and packaging finished products when needed
  • Track progress against production timelines and adjust workflows to meet delivery goals
  • Communicate with engineering to troubleshoot problems, share feedback, and support drawing or design updates
  • Implement engineering changes within the production process as required
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, workflow, and overall production performance
  • Monitor material usage and coordinate replenishment of non-stock inventory items
  • Conduct or delegate quality checks to ensure adherence to internal standards
  • Help maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation
  • Provide regular updates to leadership regarding staffing, scheduling, and production status
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, including engineering, sales, and leadership, and occasionally with customers
  • Support other related production duties as assigned
