Power Delivery Engineering Intern
About The Position
Leidos is seeking an Electrical Engineering student to work as a Power Delivery Engineering Intern in its Atlanta, Georgia office. The intern will collaborate with senior engineers and other interns on real-world challenges for utility grid customers, building knowledge and skills in power delivery engineering. Power Delivery Solutions is an electric utility engineering consulting group supporting transmission, substation, and distribution projects for utility clients nationwide. The intern will work in a fast-paced, diverse environment and receive opportunities for mentorship, training, and career development. The role may provide exposure to the National Electric Safety Code, electrical power calculations, local clients, other engineering disciplines, strategic development, business development, and utility clients nationwide. The position requires working in both field and office settings.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering at an accredited university.
- Current GPA of 2.6 or higher.
- Ability to work in both field and office settings.
- Interest in developing skills in creating work packages for transmission, distribution, or substation engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop skills in creating work packages for transmission, distribution, or substation engineering projects.
- Assist with preparing project deliverables, including engineered drawings, technical reports, project-related correspondence, and other project documentation.
- Assist the team in developing processes and procedures to improve project execution efficiency.
- Provide technical and project support in a team environment for high-voltage transmission line and low-voltage distribution projects.
