About The Position

This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making. The developer will integrate data from various sources, build and optimize ETL processes, and develop advanced DAX measures. A key aspect of the role involves analyzing and tuning Power BI report and model performance, collaborating with stakeholders, and designing data models for self-service analytics. The position also requires applying Power BI best practices, conducting user training, and specifically developing Insurance Premium Walk analysis using Power BI.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in Power BI, DAX, and data modeling.
• Experience building ETL/data integration solutions.
• Proficiency in performance optimization of Power BI reports and datasets.
• Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
• Experience developing semantic models and enabling self-service BI.
• Experience in Insurance Premium Walk / variance analysis reporting using Power BI (preferred domain advantage).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.
• Integrate data from structured data sources and custom extracts.
• Build and optimize ETL processes for data aggregation, transformation, and pre-calculation.
• Develop advanced DAX measures, queries, and calculations to support reporting requirements.
• Analyze and tune Power BI report and model performance for scalability and usability.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into impactful BI solutions.
• Design and maintain Power BI data models and semantic layers to enable self-service analytics.
• Apply Power BI best practices for data modeling, governance, and report development.
• Conduct user training and provide guidance on leveraging Power BI models and self-service analytics capabilities.
• Develop Insurance Premium Walk analysis using Power BI (e.g., Waterfall / variance analysis to explain premium movement drivers across time periods such as rate changes, policy count changes, and product mix shifts).
