Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Power BI Technical Lead to design, develop, and optimize enterprise BI solutions within the Azure and Fabric ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Power BI development, administration, and governance, along with hands-on experience integrating Power BI with Azure data platforms and Fabric. This role involves leading technical delivery, driving modernization initiatives, mentoring teams, and ensuring best practices for performance, scalability, and governance.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Gateway.
  • Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling principles.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience optimizing analytical workloads.
  • Hands-on experience with Fabric, including Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2, and OneLake.
  • Experience integrating Power BI with Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure SQL Database, and Azure Databricks.
  • Proven experience leading Tableau-to-Power BI migration projects.
  • Experience in Power BI administration, including governance, security, tenant settings, workspace management, and capacity planning.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead technical teams and ensure delivery quality.
  • Strong problem-solving and consulting skills.
  • Strong understanding of Fabric architecture and implementation.
  • Experience working within Azure-based analytics and reporting environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and enterprise reporting solutions.
  • Implement best practices for data modeling, DAX calculations, and Power Query transformations.
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance optimization for large datasets.
  • Integrate Power BI with Azure data services and Fabric components.
  • Drive migration projects from Tableau to Power BI, ensuring feature parity and improved user experience.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate migrated dashboards, reports, and KPIs.
  • Define migration strategies, governance standards, and adoption plans.
  • Manage Power BI Service administration, including workspace governance, security (RLS), deployment pipelines, and capacity management.
  • Establish governance frameworks, monitoring standards, and compliance controls.
  • Monitor platform usage, performance, and adoption metrics.
  • Mentor and guide BI developers on technical best practices and solution architecture.
  • Collaborate with business and data engineering teams to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Lead code reviews, design discussions, and development standards.
